Er. Ranadip Chakraborty is a Chartered Engineer from The Institution of Engineers (India) with over eleven years of hands-on experience in government civil engineering projects across West Bengal. From supervising road construction and bridge rehabilitation to managing water supply infrastructure and government buildings, he has worked on projects that directly shape the lives of ordinary citizens — and that experience is the foundation of everything published on Bastukar.
The idea for Bastukar emerged from a frustration familiar to many practising engineers: the gap between what textbooks teach and what actually happens on site. IS codes, IRC guidelines, and standard specifications exist in abundance — but explanations that bridge theory with practical field application, written in plain language, were hard to come by. Ranadip started writing, one article at a time, to fill that gap. What began as a personal repository of notes and worked examples grew into one of India's most visited civil engineering knowledge hubs, now serving 84,000+ visitors from across the country and beyond.
Beyond his engineering career, Ranadip holds an MBA with dual specialisation in Data Science and Business Analytics — a combination that informed the creation of ScoreCardAI.in, a technology-driven mock test platform built specifically for civil engineering AE/JE aspirants. ScoreCardAI's AI-powered weak area detection and subject-wise analytics bring a data science lens to exam preparation, helping candidates understand not just whether they got an answer right, but why they got it wrong.
His technical writing spans concrete technology, structural design, geotechnical engineering, transportation engineering, construction management, and government tendering processes.
